About Project SAFE
Steve Maczynski and Gayle Alexander are Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) who specialize in family therapy and group work. They work with families to empower each member to make better choices and to solve his or her own problems. Groups run for 8 weeks and include one family or individual session. Since 2003, girls and boys groups have been available at a convenient location at 675 S. Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria. Individual sessions are also available.

Project SAFE is designed to help children and adolescents enhance their decision-making, problem-solving, and coping skills in order to improve their social and personal lives. An important by-product is an improved performance within the academic environment. Project SAFE keeps the dialogue open between families and schools.
